Today at Nebo State School we had a STEM Day where Coppabella, Valkyrie and year 7s from Mirani who were here last year all came to school. Up first the 5/6s did Japanese like we do on a Friday morning. After that we got grouped up into colours blue, red, green and yellow and had 2 high schoolers to guide us through the activities. We also had fruit for fruit snack that included watermelon, pears, apples and oranges.
Blue group did pasta tower. Red group did a pasta bridge where you had to make a bridge that could survive and not snap under a 1 kilogram weight. Green made a necklace out of spaghetti and watched a movie. Yellow made a pasta portrait with a lot of different types of pasta. Then we had a sausage sizzle for lunch and rotated activities. Afterwards, we watched a movie and finished off the day.
