We acknowledge and pay respect to all
WIDI Ancestors and Elders as the Traditional Owners of the land on which Nebo
State School was built. We celebrate their enduring and timeless connection to
the land, skies and waterways of this ancient country.
We also pay our respects to the current
and emerging WIDI Custodians of this land. These leaders enrich the education
and lives of all who attend this school, forming a vital and powerful
partnership.
We
extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People of
Australia. By all coming together, we
will empower individuals and form a community where culture and identity are
celebrated, truth-telling supports healing and all voices are heard.
Nebo State School is on a journey to develop relationships with the WIDI people, the traditional owners of the land. We feel extremely proud and lucky that WIDI Elders graciously support us in this journey.
