At Nebo State School, we are proud to offer State Delivered Kindergarten (SDK), providing local families with access to a quality, free kindergarten program in the year before their child starts Prep.
Our Kindy program provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment where children learn through play, exploration and hands-on experiences. Children develop important social, emotional, language, and early literacy and numeracy skills while building confidence, independence and friendships.
Through the Queensland Government’s Free Kindy initiative, eligible children can access 15 hours of free kindergarten each week for 40 weeks per year. Children must turn four by 30 June in the year they attend Kindy.
SDK is particularly important for rural communities like Nebo, ensuring children can access quality early childhood education close to home. Our program follows the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline, supporting children’s learning, development and successful transition to Prep.
We welcome families to contact Nebo State School to learn more about our Kindy program and how to register their child.
At Nebo State School, we believe every child deserves a positive start to their learning journey.
